Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Face Scrutiny Amid Charity Leadership Dispute and Lifestyle Brand Launch

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are getting a lot of public scrutiny right now because of controversies surrounding their professional endeavors. Along with the launch of Meghan Markle’s lifestyle brand, “As Ever,” there have been reports of bullying at Sentebale, a charity that is co-founded by Prince Harry.
Sentebale Charity Dispute
Dr. Sophie Chandauka, chairwoman of Sentebale, has accused Prince Harry and other trustees of harassment and bullying. She alleges that Harry attempted to force her out and damage her reputation by contacting sponsors, leading to a public scandal. Chandauka says this behaviour includes cover-up of her whistleblower complaint on bullying, harassment, and sexism inside the charity and boardroom bullying.
Prince Harry and many other trustees thus resigned, claiming the situation to be intolerable. The conflict is driving the Charity Commission to investigate Sentebale’s operations. Some argue that these types of public diversions undermine the fundamental objective of the charity and cause people to lose confidence in donating.

Meghan Markle started her lifestyle business, ‘As Ever’, amid these scandals with items including herbal teas, pancake mix and a limited-edition Wildflower Honey with Honeycomb priced at £28. These products debuted alongside her Netflix cookery show, “With Love, Meghan,” and soon sold out upon premiere. Still, the launch of the brand has been criticised. Netflix employees who worked on the project called it a “logistic nightmare,” citing disorganisation and last-minute changes to the brand name, such as going from “American Riviera Orchard” to “As Ever.”
Due to the ongoing problems with the project, some team members are unhappy, which has led to doubt within the group. Meghan’s public thanks to important male colleagues, like director Jake Rosenberg, makeup artist Daniel Martin, and Made by Article’s Ryan Sax, for their support during her artistic work got more attention. Prince Harry’s omission of mentioning this sparked debates about his participation in her most recent endeavours.

Public Criticism and Lack of Self-Awareness
In a recent article for The Telegraph, Celia Walden says that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s lack of self-awareness is the reason for popular wrath. She argues that many of their problems might have been avoided with more thoughtfulness, pointing to past actions such as the Oprah interview, Harry’s revealing autobiography Spare, and their Netflix documentary as examples of poor judgment. Walden claims that the Sussexes ignore good advice and act on their own, stating, “It’s not that they are consistently being given bad advice. It’s because they won’t listen to good advice.
The public and the media keep a lot of interest in Prince Harry and Meghan Markle as they handle these issues. This reveals how complex their lives are now that they are no more royalty and how much people value their activities.
